Cookie Policy
1. About this policy
This policy explains how BowlsTV.com uses cookies, and how you can control them.
BowlsTV.com is operated by Potter’s Leisure Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), registered in England and Wales under company number 00453567, with its registered office at Hebblethwaites 2 Westbrook Court, Sharrow Vale Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom, S11 8YZ. Potter’s Leisure Ltd is the data controller for this website.
The website is home to the Ambassador Cruise Line 2027 World Indoor Bowls Championships, held at Potters Resorts Hopton-on-Sea in partnership with the World Bowls Tour and Ambassador Cruise Line. Both partners place cookies on this site if you accept marketing cookies, and section 5 explains exactly what that means.
This policy covers BowlsTV.com only. The Potters Resorts website has its own cookie policy, and the World Bowls Tour and Ambassador Cruise Line websites have theirs. If you follow a link from here to any of those sites, their policies apply to your visit.
For a fuller account of how we handle personal information, please read our privacy policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves onto your computer, tablet or phone when you visit. They let the site remember things about you and your visit, such as which pages you have looked at or whether you have already dismissed a message.
Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by other organisations whose content or services appear on our pages, such as the companies that provide our video player and our website statistics. These are known as third-party cookies.
We also use similar technologies, including pixels and tags, which work in much the same way. Where this policy refers to cookies, it covers those too.
3. How to control your cookies
You are in charge of which cookies we use, and you can change your mind at any time.
When you first visit BowlsTV.com, a banner appears asking which cookies you are happy for us to use. You can accept them all, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or choose category by category. Until you make a choice, we only use the cookies the site needs in order to work.
To change your choice later, click the small cookie icon in the bottom corner of any page. This reopens the banner and lets you update or withdraw your consent. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we will ask you again.
We use a consent platform called Cookiebot, provided by Usercentrics, to manage this. Cookiebot records your choice and keeps it as evidence of your consent.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, which let you block or delete cookies across every website you visit. The instructions differ by browser, and you will normally find them under Settings, then Privacy. Please note that blocking all cookies will stop parts of this site from working properly, including the video player.
Turning off marketing cookies will not reduce the number of advertisements you see. It means the advertisements you do see will be less relevant to you.
4. The categories of cookie we use
We group our cookies into four categories. You can accept or reject each one separately, apart from the strictly necessary cookies, which the site cannot work without.
| Category | What these cookies do | Can you turn them off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep the site secure, spread visitor traffic evenly across our servers, and remember the cookie choice you have made so we do not ask you again on every page. | No. These are essential and we use them without asking for consent. |
| Preferences | Remember choices you have made, so the site behaves the way you expect on your next visit. | Yes |
| Statistics | Tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, how they found us, and whether they registered for updates. We use this to understand which of our emails and campaigns are working. The information is collected in a form that does not identify you personally. | Yes |
| Marketing | Record which pages you have visited so that advertisements you see on other websites and social media can be made relevant to you. These are set by us and by our partners, and section 5 explains this in full. | Yes |
Rejecting preferences, statistics or marketing cookies will not stop you using the site, registering for updates, or watching any of the bowls.
5. Marketing cookies and our partners
If you accept marketing cookies, the World Bowls Tour and Ambassador Cruise Line are able to place their own cookies on this website.
We tell you this plainly because it is the part people most want to understand. Here is what it means in practice.
The Championships are run in partnership between Potters Resorts, the World Bowls Tour and title sponsor Ambassador Cruise Line. When you accept marketing cookies, all three of us can record that you have visited BowlsTV.com. Each partner can then show you advertising on other websites, social media and search engines based on that visit. This is commonly called remarketing or retargeting.
So, having read about the Championships here, you might later see:
• An advertisement for Potters Resorts holidays or Bowls Breaks
• An advertisement for the World Bowls Tour and its events
• An advertisement for Ambassador Cruise Line's cruises and offers
What these cookies do not do. They do not give any partner your name, email address or any other detail you have typed into this website. If you register for tournament updates, that is handled separately and is covered by our privacy policy, not by this policy. Marketing cookies record website activity only.
If you would rather not have this. Reject marketing cookies on the banner, or reopen it using the cookie icon at the bottom of any page and switch them off. Everything else on the site continues to work, including live streaming.
When these cookies are active, the World Bowls Tour and Ambassador Cruise Line each decide how they use the information their own cookies collect. Their privacy notices explain this, and you can read them attheworldbowlstour.org and ambassadorcruiseline.com
6. The cookies we use
The table below lists every cookie on BowlsTV.com. It is generated by Cookiebot and updated automatically each month when the site is rescanned.
If you spot a cookie on this site that is not listed here, please tell us using the contact details in section 9 and we will investigate. If you spot a cookie on this site that is not listed here, please tell us using the contact details in section 9 and we will investigate.
7. Watching the bowls
Our Watch page uses an embedded video player to stream matches and show highlights. The company providing that player sets its own cookies when the player loads.
Some of these cookies are needed to make the video work, such as remembering your volume and picture quality. Others are used for advertising by the video provider. If you have rejected marketing cookies, the player loads without them.
You do not need to accept marketing cookies to watch any match. Every match of the Ambassador Cruise Line 2027 World Indoor Bowls Championships is free to watch, with no subscription and no paywall, whatever cookie choice you make.
8. Our emails
If you register for tournament updates, our emails contain a small invisible image that tells us whether the email has been opened, and the links are set up to tell us which ones have been clicked.
This is not a website cookie, but people reasonably expect to find it explained here. We use it to see which updates people find useful, so we can send fewer and better emails. You can stop it by setting your email program not to load images automatically, and every email carries an unsubscribe link at the foot. Our privacy policy explains this in more detail.
9. Your rights and how to contact us
You can withdraw your consent to cookies at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom of any page, and you do not need to give a reason.
Where cookies collect information that identifies you, you also have the right to ask what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict how we use it, and to object to its use. Our privacy policyexplains these rights in full and how to exercise them.
If you have a question about cookies on this site, please write to us at [data protection contact address], or Potter’s Leisure Ltd, Hebblethwaites 2 Westbrook Court, Sharrow Vale Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom, S11 8YZ.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by telephone on 0303 123 1113.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website develops, particularly in the run-up to and during the Championships in January 2027. Any changes will appear on this page.
Where a change affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will ask for your consent again rather than assume your earlier choice still stands.
